The first Thailand Millionaire Expo 2007 wrapped up on Bangkok on 4 November after a successful three-day run where almost 50 European and Asian luxury companies came together all under one roof at Siam Paragon, “the Pride of Bangkok”. The first high-end lifestyle show of its kind to be held in the region, Thailand Millionaire Expo 2007 fills a unique niche in a market where luxury brands are growing at a phenomenal rate.

Invision Hospitality appoints Managing Director

Mr. Jonathan Wigley has been appointed InVision Hospitality’s new Managing Director by company CEO, Mr. Kevin J. Beauvais.

Mr. Wigley has 22 years experience in the hospitality industry, working for international hotel chains including Hilton Hotels, Omni Group of Hotels, Delta Grand Pacific Hotel and the Landmark Hotel Group. Mr. Wigley has previously worked in Thailand in the role of Group Manager for the three franchised Marriott Resorts & Spas, as well as Anantara Resorts & Spas. Having spent more than 15 years in the region, he is well versed in Asian culture and traditions.

“This new appointment presents me with new and exciting opportunities to further expand the company’s services in the market, in addition to the launch of SOMA Hotels & Resorts and Residences. Let’s Boogie Party @ Baba, Sri Panwa, Phuket

Sri Panwa, in conjunction with The Nation and Phuket Gazette, brought some very happy guests back in time recently at Baba Dining Lounge’s ‘Let’s Boogie Party!’

With the Balloon Band playing classics from the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s, around 100 guests were there to enjoy the evening. Guests were also able to sample some delicious finger food from Chef Jimmy & his team.

Fun was had by all and we look forward to what Sri Panwa & Baba Dining Lounge has in store for the coming months!

Temple created for Birthday celebrations

To celebrate His Majesty the Kings’ 80th birthday the Tae Wa Sa Tan temple is being built in Phuket Town.

This will be the first Brahmanism Temple in the South of Thailand and it is believed that building it on Phuket will encourage growth and development in the area.

Ajarn Alek Udomdecho, who is building the temple, also built the nearby Chinese shrine, Sarm Sae Joo Hud. The new temple will also be the home for ‘Praphut Chaiworraman’, a statue dating back more than 1000 years.  The temple will cost more than 25 million Baht to construct and building will begin at the end of 2008. It will take around 5 years for building to be completed.

The Phuket Animal Welfare Society is proud to introduce a unique new service for you and your pets.  A mobile veterinary clinic will be open on-site at the Land and House development in Chalong every Friday from 10:00 – 14:00 hours, situated next to the clubhouse.

The clinic is fully equipped for general and emergency treatments with a team of fully qualified veterinary surgeons.  Services available on-site are: vaccinations, advice on sterilisation, general health check-ups, advice on pet-care and other services as required.
