MOZART’S THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO Performance by The Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok Production of Ibycus Co., Ltd. After a ten-month long preparation with an essentially local cast of opera singers, The Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok is planning to put on for the first time ever in Thailand, one of the most intricate comic operas of W.A. Mozart, The Marriage of Figaro.
Essential in this opera production is the collaboration from Maestro Dante Mazzola of La Scala Theater and his student at La Scala Academy, Yoko Takahashi, a young outstanding pianist repetiteur with a very promising future. Yoko has been working with the singers since October 2006 and will conduct the 28-member orchestra for the performances in July this year.

Venue: Thailand Cultural Centre Small Hall with innovative staging to include a 28-member orchestra. Design of sets, inside murals and entrance area to bring the audience into the Spanish setting of the comic opera.

Into its second year of existence, The Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok is happy to announce exciting offers of international collaboration for its second full production.
1.First and foremost, valuable advice is coming from Italy, notably from Maestro Dante Mazzola of Teatro alla Scala, Milan, who will be guiding the Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok throughout its production.
2.Yoko Takahashi, a professional opera repetiteur furthering her professional studies at La Scala Academy, has been preparing all the singers since October 2006 and will be conducting the Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok Orchestra in the two opera performances of the July 2007 production.
